About Heather

I’ve spent more than a decade helping tell Georgia’s economic development story.

Along the way, I’ve had the opportunity to work in and alongside organizations like the Metro Atlanta Chamber, Georgia Power Economic Development, GEDA, SEDC, and countless local economic development organizations across the state. I’ve supported communications around transformative projects, presented to community leaders on photography and storytelling, and built relationships with professionals working every day to help their communities grow.

One thing I’ve learned is that economic development marketing isn’t like any other kind of marketing.

It’s about understanding people. Building trust. Listening before you write. Finding the story behind a place, and figuring out how to share it with the right audience.

Whether I’m in the middle of downtown Atlanta or a rural Georgia community, my favorite part of this work is discovering what makes a place unique and helping others see it the way the people who live there already do.

I’ve been fortunate to contribute to projects that have helped strengthen Georgia’s reputation as the best state for business. That work has introduced me to incredible communities, leaders I greatly admire, and friendships across the state that I’m grateful for every day.

Now, through Heather Worthan Consulting, I’m excited to continue that work by partnering directly with the communities and organizations that are shaping what’s next.

Because every community has a story worth telling. My job is helping you tell yours.
